Valentine’s Day and Mercury RX

Valentine’s Day will be puzzling. From my point of view the problem is Venus has just finished being RX at the end of January and Mercury goes RX on February 6th — well it is time to sit back and think about. It is case of all dressed up for love, yet there are problems. Venus RX was supposed to be a time of reflecting, rethinking, re-examining, all of the “re” anything. When this is over, Venus is now rising in the East, full of energy, ready to move forward. Time to look for building love, finding it, seeing it in a new light of expanding consciousness. All that.

Yet there is a menace to this. Mercury goes RX in 6 days after Venus goes direct. Venus and Valentine’s day has got problems. Not to say that Mercury can necessarily mean problems, but think about it. Venus is now active after forty days of being RX, ready to get the romantic, esthetic, beautiful things in life popping away. And oops, here is Mercury RX!

So here is the situation. Valentine’s Day has to be approached with special care. Communications that usually are smooth and clear, must be examined to make sure of clarity. Remember Mercury is the one God that can go to the underworld and then return. So when Mercury is RX there can be some unconscious things happening. Self destructive urges can occur. Valentine’s Day can be a source of pressure, or hoping that the right gifts are given, the right expression of love. Sure many woman are happy with the expression of love that their man gives them. But others will feel that more thought can be given. The girlfriend of one of my clients once rebuked him for giving a gift that “was not thought out, but a quick pick gift from some store.” That created some problems.

Don’t accept any response as “given” any intuition as great. Take your time to get into the mood of this Holiday for the Heart. Recheck your thinking and your words. Be prepared so that you are patient and ready to deal with communication problem, restaurant reservations to get fouled up.

If your are smart, I would go so far as to say to go out to dinner on the 13th and stay away from the crowds of people who are just going out and doing what the herd wants to do. Stay home on Valentine’s Day with a good DVD, good wine and watch the show in bed. Get some real flowers for the bed room. Enjoy yourself without the rush of the clutter that this day often brings. Cuddle and enjoy.
