JULY IS MONTH OF ON GOING CHANGES

This is the monthly newsletter from Astrodienst with a short overview of the current quality of time.

THE MONTH OF JULY

Two major astrological events characterize the month of July: the entry of Uranus into Gemini and the conjunction of Saturn and Neptune in Aries. The July newsletter tells of renewal and upheaval, disillusionment and the opportunities this offers, and a new collective myth born during this time.

THE CURRENT QUALITY OF TIME
Venus, Uranus, and Neptune shape the quality of time in the first days of the month. On July 4, Venus and Uranus meet in a conjunction at the end of Taurus. Just a few hours later, Venus enters Gemini, and Neptune begins its retrograde. On July 6, Venus forms a sextile to Saturn and Neptune in Aries, and on the 7th, a trine to Pluto in Aquarius. On this day, Uranus also enters Gemini.
These days can provide some surprises and bring a breath of fresh air to relationship matters. It is an excellent time for a long exchange of ideas with like-minded or differently minded people and a romantic encounter. It also favors creative and artistic endeavors.
The entry of Uranus into Gemini on July 7 is another critical step in this time of social upheaval. Over the next seven years, it will bring the necessary renewal and the odd revolution in science, research, trade, and communication. It affects the intellect, the exchange of information and knowledge, and all kinds of connections between people. Uranus returns to Taurus once again in November. It finally enters Gemini in April 2026.
With Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius, two social planets are now in Air signs. They will repeatedly form a trine with each other until 2028. Neptune in Aries connects the two with a sextile. This harmonious aspect figure will remain active for several years and provides welcome support for the social changes of the Air epoch.
The Full Moon forms in Capricorn on July 10. The quality of time connects us to the wisdom that comes from life experience. It is a good day to pause in the routine of everyday life and turn inwards. Write in your diary again or start one. Tell a friend how you have been doing this year, and be prepared to listen.
The second major astrological event takes place in mid-July: The conjunction of Saturn and Neptune in Aries. This marks the beginning of another chapter in the current historical turning point. The last time the two met was in Capricorn in 1989. The upheavals of that time, such as the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of the Soviet Union, still reverberate today.
On July 17, the first conjunction of Saturn and Neptune will be exact to within a few minutes of arc. However, as Saturn is retrograde from July 13, the second conjunction on February 20, 2026, marks the exact starting point of the new Saturn-Neptune cycle. Both planets will return to Pisces before then. Once again, we must patiently deal with the challenging relationship between endings (Pisces) and new beginnings (Aries).
The conjunction of Saturn and Neptune heralds a turbulent phase. Complex and often chaotic processes begin now, which are particularly visible in collective events. The underlying theme is a deep conflict between ideal and reality. Collective dreams, expectations, and hopes that no longer relate to reality lose their justification and dissolve. This also includes social consensus about right and wrong. Social and political structures that lack support can come under severe pressure or even collapse, especially where people have long been disappointed or systematically deceived. Like a dam bursting, a small weak point could quickly lead to the collapse of the entire structure.
Paradoxically, the positive side of this quality of time includes the current disillusionment. The dreams that are now dissolving leave behind the space in which the new zeitgeist – a new collective myth – can manifest itself. This relates to Aries’s life-affirming, dynamic, strong-willed, and pioneering qualities, as well as its impatient, fanatical, and warlike shadow sides.
One of Aries’ outstanding qualities is its deep, innocent trust in new beginnings. If you meet people now who have mastered this art, let them inspire you. If you struggle with doubt and lack energy, try taking small steps. If you can act with basic trust, you can achieve a lot and experience great satisfaction during this time.
On July 22, the Sun enters Leo. Venus in Gemini and Mars in Virgo form a square on July 23. The day after, the New Moon in Leo opposes Pluto in Aquarius, trines Saturn and Neptune, and sextiles Uranus. The Sun-Pluto opposition becomes exact on the 25th.
This New Moon picks up on all the month’s themes once again. During that time, it could become clear where the journey is heading and who is now steering the ship. Some people may rub their eyes in amazement. It is an excellent time to take a big step forward or complete complex projects.

THE PERSONAL QUALITY OF TIME
The quality of time encourages you to focus on yourself and actively shape your life. In the long years with Neptune in Pisces, transcendence, meditation, and experiences of unity were, to a certain extent, part of the zeitgeist. Some found a deep inner peace during these years. Now, we are called upon to act with confidence from this center.
