The new moon on July 8th in 16 degrees of Cancer is conjunct Mercury–retrograde. The theme of this retrograde will continue to bring troubling transformations. On the global scale, one has only to look at Egypt to see what havoc is possible in this situation. The Egyptian coup or whatever you want to call it, happened when balsamic moon was exactly opposite the transiting Pluto.
For most of us this new moon will bring a strong energy to deal with the problems in our own home, our own neighborhood, our own state, country. This applies to the world itself and we as individual are a microcosm of that macrocosm.
The grand trine of Saturn, Neptune and Jupiter is a major event, bringing energy for all of us to look at the tides of change that we have recently gone through and the changes that are to come. Jupiter has just gone from Air to Water and this change in the Greek elements foreshadows a strong shift. The Sabian Symbol for the degree of this moon is ” The germ grows into knowledge and life”
The idea here is the life forced, the drive to identity of the seed of a life, from the human to the life of the planet itself is involved right now in a push to greater unfoldment.
For the individual the challenge is to watch and let this emerging energy continue on its path. The seed of the oak is now above ground, the die is cast, the event of revolution in governments is matched by the changes that we are going through on many levels. The gay victory in the decision of the supreme court, that is a continuation of the energy of Stonewall. And for each of us there is a path that we have been following that now must be allowed to manifest at whatever pace it must–for to deny this energy is to invite chaos. Changes must be made.
The problem in this moon is that the Mercury conjunctions weds this energy with the confusing communication aura of this disruptive retrograde. This makes the work with this familial energy difficult, for the act of expression itself is more contorted that usual for actions this close the heart and the identity of us all.
From now to the end of July–even though Mercury goes direct on the 20th, it sill linger and linger this strange malaise that hovers over our actions with the intimate relationships we must muddle through, decisions that must be made and cannot be put off.

See it in your own life, embrace it, go with the sense of tide that carries you.
